In Ireland the school examination system has a leaving examination, which is known as the 'Leaving Cert'. After sitting this school leaving examination, this then leads in many cases to study at colleges of further education, or online courses, and/or university. The Irish Leaving Certificate Examinations, also referred to as the 'Leaving Cert' is a final examination in Irish secondary schools.
